"Windsocks"

"Fun to do and easy to make!"

Materials:

Any picture of an underwater scene photocopied onto 11" x 17" (We found ours in a coloring book and enlarged it to 11" x 17" format)

¨     Blue block or watered-down tempera paints

¨     brightly colored pastels or wax crayon

¨     flag tape (surveyor's tape)

¨     pipe cleaners

Directions:

1.      Color the solid pictures in the photocopied underwater scene (i.e.  coral, fish, kelp, sand), leaving the background white.

2.    Paint a thin wash of blue paint over the complete picture.

3.  When the paint is dry, roll the picture up lengthwise and staple closed at the top and bottom.

4.  Attach a pipe cleaner as a handle.

5.  Staple on multicoloured pieces of flag tape (surveyor's tape) to the bottom.
