Following is a list of figures of speech and their meanings.

to be fishy - to create the suspicion that something might not be right

to be at sea - to be confused

to be in a pretty kettle of fish - to be in difficulty

to have other fish to fry - to have other possibilities

to fish or cut bait - to make an offer or withdraw

 to burn one's boats - to ruin future chances

 to be a fish out of water - to be uncomfortable with the surroundings

to stick in one's oar - to meddle or to interfere

 to be in the same boat - to be in a similar situation as someone else

 to be as slippery as an eel - to be untrustworthy

 to be the biggest fish in the sea - to be the most important
