Habitat

They live in deep water for much of the year.

Food

Squid, Polar Cod, bottom fish, shrimp and crabs.

Enemies

Humans hunt them.  Polar bears are also their enemies.

Appearance

Up to 15 meters long, including tusks, and about 1.6 tonnes.  Narwhals are white and brown.  Narwhal horns are really teeth and males only have them.

Babies

About 1.5 meters, and 80 kilograms..  The gestation period is a year.

Fun Facts

Population unknown, but best estimate is 25000 to 50000.  May be declining in some areas due to hunting.  Narwhals use their horns to protect their young. Narwhals have no dorsal fin.  They used to sell Narwhal horns.
