We made
a backdrop for this project using the idea of Kelly and Patti's with the Bingo
daubers. We hung the fishing line in front of the bulletin board to give the
project a 3-D effect. Material:
Art foam (1/2 a piece per child), white craft glue, loose leaf paper, sharp
pencils, fish line, and paper clips. Procedure:
On a 1/2 a piece of loose leaf the children will draw a sea creature. I used the
rule that the picture had to touch two edges (this helps them get the picture
big enough).
They
choose a piece of art foam and laid their loose leaf picture on top. Using their
sharp pencil they poke holes through the outline of their picture. This is a
great way to have them trace onto different material. -Add all
the details using scraps of art foam from other people. Use plenty of glue to
ensure that the pieces stay on. -Hang
the sea creatures from the ceiling with a paper clip and fishing line Extension: In their Journal write a story of whom is chasing and following whom.
