Gel Candles

Gel candles are very elegant and an excellent medium for creating a miniature ocean scene.

You need:

  1. A clear glass
  2. Warm glue gun
  3. Candle gel *
  4. Candle scent *
  5. Blue dye *
  6. Wick *
  7. Sand *
  8. Tiny seashells and other small ocean objects

Process:

  1. Heat gel in a pot with a pouring spout, and add scent.
  2. Secure wick to the bottom of the glass with warm glue.
  3. Place a small amount of sand in the bottom of the glass.
  4. Slowly pour clear wax approximately 2-3 cm from the rim.
  5. Once gel has cooled to a warm temperature, carefully push 2-4 ocean objects into the gel. A fondue fork or bamboo skewer work very well.
  6. Add blue dye to hot clear gel and carefully fill the glass to the rim

When the candles are completed, they can be wrapped in decorative cellophane and tied at the stem with curling ribbon.
